Before Door Bells were Door Knockers

It is often hard to believe what people used years ago before our modern day Door Bells. This Vintage Brass Door Knocker is one example and is actually a simple design but many were very ornate and unique. Brass was a common material and most people had wooden doors.  We have a Pinterest board for vintage hardware and Door Knockers you can check out to see some examples.

This Door Knocker measures 8" x 3" in size and also has the screws in the back to attach it to your door. We have this listed at auction this week on eBay and you can all additional pictures if you check out the listing.

We also have a few other auctions listed so stop by today and check them out.

Do You Love Vintage Hardware?

I love the look of original Vintage Hardware such as these brass drawer pulls. The detail and craftsmanship that goes into an item like this is amazing and they last for years. It is hard to tell how old these are since they were probally used for many years.

This is a very nice set I have listed on eBay along with some other vintage hardware items. You can see all the additonal pictures on the ebay listing including close ups.

I have a Pinterest page for Vintage Hardware and you can see many uses for all types of vintage hardware. There are some very creative ways people use vintage hardware in addition to the original use.

As always on eBay I have all my items listed with Best Reasonable Offer and also free shipping so stop by today.

Do You Collect Vintage Hardware?

My husband loves auctions and has collected items for many years. One day I was looking through some boxes for stuff to sell and found a box of vintage hardware. I mean the old original hardware on doors and cabinets that had been around for many years. I started doing some research and was fascinated by what I found.

First I loved the look of the vintage pieces and never thought about it growing up. To me they were just drawer pulls or door knobs but today they are so much more. There is a lot of craftsmanship that went in to these pieces and many of them are brass. Over the years they have aged and took on a beautiful look.

I started a collection on eBay for vintage hardware and also a Pinterest board of some of my favorites if you would like to follow them.

I have listed some for sale and you can find them in eBay in my Vintage Hardware category.
