I Love Vintage and Collectible Items

I love vintage and collectible items and so it was natural for me to start selling these items. I collect things (too many I think) and enjoy sharing these items with others. One nice benefit of selling is being able to buy items to add to my collection.  I have found it is often easier to buy then to sell but I am working on downsizing a bit.  I have been selling on eBay since 2000 and have listed many vintage items over the years.

I also enjoy hearing from buyers about the items I am selling and the story behind them. I sell a lot of vintage racing items and have often received notes about drivers, tracks and the memories they have of these places. It is interesting to hear the memories from other people about racing. Often people buy some of these items because they attended that track or their dad raced there. This is an example of vintage racing program book we have listed on eBay.

Vintage Program Books Are a Piece of Racing History

Are you a race fan that enjoys learning about the history of the sport? Or are you a race fan that remembers those vintage days of racing and how it used to be? Here is just one that is on sale this week in our eBay store. This is a 1967 Daytona Firecracker 400 Race Program filled with photos, articles and vintage advertising. This was the 9th race that was run at the track.

This is a great piece of racing history for any race fan and can bring back a lot of memories for anyone that remembers what racing used to be like. Look at how far Nascar has come since these days of racing. It is also great to see what a lot of the drivers looked like back then too.

Remember These Vintage Drivers at Talladega Speedway?

I have been around racing as long as I can remember and love collecting vintage racing items. I have quite a collection but have been listing some items and today I have listed a 1969 Talladega Speedway Program Book. This is the first annual program book from Talladega and is filled with photos, articles and vintage advertising. There are also a few advertising flyers with this and a sticker from the track.

This lot is up for auction this week at the Book Corner Cafe on eBay. The program does have some water damage but all the pages are tight and there is no writing. I loved looking through this and remembering racing as it was years ago. Anyone who have been around racing knows how different racing in 1969 is from racing in 2013.

Do You Have A Vintage Race Fan On Your Christmas List?

I have been a race fan for as long as I can remember and grew up going to the race track every week.  Over the years racing has evolved like every thing else and these vintage program books bring back a simpler time in racing. This program book for Atlanta Raceway is from the first race held there in 1961.

This is really a piece of racing history filled with vintage photos, articles and even advertising. Many people that followed racing will remember the names of Parsons, Allison, Petty and many more that are pictured in this book.

Do You Remember Berwick Beach Haven Park Speedway?

Stock car racing has been around many years and there were a lot of small local tracks that raced every weekend year in and year out. Over time many of the paper items such as program books, flyers, ticket stubs and racing rule books disappeared. Years ago very few people that attended the races kept these items.

Berwick Beach Haven Park Speedway Racing Rules

I found a box of vintage racing items and there was the racing rules for Berwick Beach Haven Park Speedway in the box. It has what the purse was and the classes that ran there. There are also the rules that the races must follow in order to be legal and race at the Speedway. This was from the year 1972 and how different it is from today's rule books.

If you know someone who attended or raced at Berwick Speedway or even someone who collects vintage racing memorabilia this would be a great Christmas gift. Certainly it would be one that no one else would get that person on your list.

If you are looking for a unique Christmas gift for a Motorcycle Collector you should check out this Vintage Cycle Racing Program. This is a 1978 Motorcycle Racing Program from Pocono Raceway. They raced the AMA CycleJam race and this is filled with vintage photos, articles and advertising. This also includes the line up for the race which is a nice addition to the program book.

New 1987 Winston Cup Media Guide

I have a friend who has been around racing for a very long time starting with racing on the beach in Daytona. He has boxes of racing items and now has decided to downsize and I have been listing those items for him and what a treasure of racing history. He was a racer, promoter, press person and wore many other hats as well and still very involved in the Living Legends of Racing.

I have a new sealed 1987 Winston Cup Media Guide1987 Winston Cup Media Guide I listed today. These media guides were given out at the races to the press people so they could use the information to write their articles. You have to remember this was before the era of computers and sponsors and teams would make these up so all the correct information about the team was published. My friend has boxes of these that I am listing.

This is really a piece of racing history with all the pages filled with facts and figures and vintage photos. This media guide is new and there are very few of these around today.
