If you had to pick a favorite holiday would it be Christmas? I think many people would say yes as we all have childhood memories of that holiday. Christmas is probably the one holiday that parents spend the most time on making special for their kids.  Like most families we would have special meals, family traditions, relatives visiting, decorations and of course presents.

In our family we had the same decorations that we used year after year. Some new ones were added of course but many were handed down from my grandparents.  We have ornaments on our tree now that my parents used on their tree and they sure do bring back memories. Was it that way at your house?

Do Vintage Christmas Ornaments Have Special Memories For You?

Do you decorate a Vintage Christmas Tree? I can remember hanging plastic ornaments much like these on my tree growing up. In fact I think these were often the ones we were allowed to hang up first since they were plastic and wouldn't break like the glass balls that covered most of our tree. We had to wait until we were older to hang the important Christmas ornaments.

My sister is younger then I am and I was so happy when I was able to help hang the glass ornaments and how grown up I felt. She on the other hand was still only allowed to hang the plastic ornaments. This would always caused a discussion on her part on why I could hang the glass ones and she couldn't. It is amazing how looking at these ornaments could bring back those memories.

Did You Have a Vintage Tree Topper On Your Christmas Tree?

When I  was growing up Christmas time and all the family traditions were very important. We all loved decorating the Christmas Tree and putting the tree topper on the tree was a very important job. Putting our angel on the top and stringing the lights were my dad's job the rest was left up to the kids. We had the same angel on our tree year after year like many families. This is just one of many Christmas traditions for many families including my own.

This cute Angel Tree Topper is listed on eBay and you can see she how pretty she is lit up. She measures about 8 inches high and would look adorable on any Christmas Tree. You can see the rest of the pictures on the listing.

Do you have Vintage Christmas Lights Like These?

We love Vintage Christmas Items and buy, sell and collect all types of Christmas Decorations. We also love auctions and buy a lot of box lots and you never know what you will find in a box. These lights were a box lot find from our local auction and we had never seen these before.

They all work and we have about 10 extra bulbs that we will send along with these strings to use as replacements. We looked around to find another place to buy replacement bulbs and couldn't find anywhere. If anyone knows were you can find these bulbs we would love to know about it.

These are cute round ball lights and as you can see in the photos there are places were the paint has worn off. Rememeber These Vintage Christmas Tree Ornaments?

My favorite time of year is the Christmas season and decorating the tree tops my list of things to do. In fact in our house I decorate both a large live tree and an artificial one with vintage ornaments. The boxes show signs of use but every year these ornaments are taken out  and carefully hung on the tree. I love the look of these long handing ornaments and they contrast with all the typical round glass balls.

I have a set of these that were my grandmom's and they are always on my tree. I found these at an estate auction and was really tempted to keep them but decide to list them. I hope someone else can enjoy these vintage Christmas ornaments on their tree.

Home Movies from the 1960's up for Auction

I was at an auction and bought a bunch of box lots and when I got home I found these vintage 8mm film reels in one of the boxes.

Most of these have writing on them such as 1960's Christmas, Camping, Football, Easter and more. I remember when my dad loved filming us and then replaying them at family get togethers over the years. Do you remember those days? It was alwasy fun and sometime embarrassing to watch those movies as we grew up.

I don't know the family but it is always fun looking at the time period of these film reels like the clothes, scenery, cars etc it is really a walk back in time.

Home Movies on 8mm Film Reels

As any parent knows pictures, slides and home movies were a very important part of life years ago. Many families would record trips, holidays and their family life on film reels to watch when ever they wanted. Today technology has changed all that but watching these old movies are still so much fun.

I have listed a lot of vintage 8mm film reels on eBay. These are home movies and are marked with things like Christmas, Birthday's, Trip from California to St Louis as well as some that are not marked. There are also a few dates on them from the 1960's.

Even if you don't know the family there is so much history in these films like the clothing, cars, houses etc that make for very interesting viewing.

Do You Enjoy Christmas Crafts?

I have spent many hours over the years doing all kinds of crafts including ones like this Christmas plastic canvas kit. I loved spending my evenings stitching the pieces and then putting it all together to see a beautiful Christmas centerpiece I could use year after year.

As time went on I have many years of homemade items that I decorate with each year and so I am selling this for someone else to make and enjoy at their house.

This is an older kit that is still sealed and has never been opened so it is complete. This makes a cute Christmas centerpiece that you can use year after year to decorate your table.

Vintage Ceramic Christmas Tree Music Box

I love Christmas and holiday decorating is one of my favorite things to do. Thanksgiving weekend is spent enjoying the holiday then taking down and putting up decorations.

Each year I look for new decorations to add and I am always on the lookout for Vintage Christmas Decorations. I found this Ceramic Christmas Tree Music Box and decided to list it for sale. I made a few of the ceramic trees when I took ceramic classes and so I really didn't have room for this music box. The hardest thing for me to do is to list some of these Christmas items I find.

It is quite a pretty piece and plays music and the Santa and Snowmen spin. I've listened to the music quite a few times and I am just not sure exactly what song it is playing but it is pretty.

Vintage Glass Christmas Tree Ornaments

I am sure you all remember the boxes of beautiful Glass Christmas Tree Ornaments we all hung on our Christmas trees. This is a box of the type of ornaments I had to wait to hang on my tree until I was a older. These have a fine gold netting around the balls which sparkle when the Christmas lights are lit. My mom would fill the tree with many glass ornaments that held special memories.Today many of those vintage ornaments have been passed on to my sister and I and they now hang on our trees each year.

Christmas has always been my favorite time of year for many reasons. I love decorating and making cookies but I enjoy gift giving most of all. I enjoy getting gifts (don't we all) but I love giving gifts more then anything. Spending time picking out the prefect gift for a family member or friend is so much fun and means a lot to the person.
